19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A revitalized Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.
Victory also means the Russian has achieved 21 victories at 21 different tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," commented ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle in the past months.
His counter-punching strategy and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the top level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet rescued four initial break points in a close deciding set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
