Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the group reach areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
